AV cities aghast at state plan to take local funds

PALMDALE – The city may be forced to cut more programs and possibly lay off more employees if California’s Legislature adopts the state budget scheduled for a vote Thursday. During a special meeting of the City Council on Monday, City Manager Steve Williams said the latest information indicated the city could lose nearly $7 million and as much as $14.5 million if the state budget is approved as proposed.
