Certain vendors doing business with the state will be granted sales tax extensions due to lawmakers not passing a new budget by July 1. The Board of Equalization can grant extensions for filing returns and paying sales and use tax to businesses who do not receive payment from the state until a budget is adopted. Filing extensions may also be available for some special tax and fee programs. For more information, contact the BOE Taxpayer Information Center at (800) 400-7115 weekdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
