Capstone Turbine Corp. narrowed its net loss in the first quarter when compared to a year ago. The Chatsworth-based manufacturer of micro-turbines posted a loss of $9.8 million, or $0.07 per diluted share, on revenues of $7.5 million for the quarter ending June 30. For the same period in 2007, Capstone reported a net loss of $10.4 million, or $0.07 per diluted share, on revenues of $5.6 million. Capstone received $20 million in new product orders for the first quarter, more than the entire product revenue in fiscal 2007, company President and CEO Darren Jamison said. Shares in Capstone closed down at $2.42.
