PALMDALE – The city would cancel this year’s Fall Festival, relocate youth library programs into the main library, cut big-name shows at the Playhouse, increase user fees at the water park and seek alternate funding for eight sheriff’s deputies under municipal budget cuts proposed Wednesday. After weighing more than 100 residents’ opinions aired at two public meetings, City Manager Steve Williams identified numerous cuts and fee increases that, if approved in June, would reduce spending by $4.1 million in fiscal 2009-10, which begins July 1.
