Coalition to Study Audience Measurement for Old, New Media

Media, advertising and telecommunications companies have joined forces to form a new group to find new ways to measure audiences across traditional and new media. Among the founding members of the Coalition for Innovative Media Measurement are NBC Universal and The Walt Disney Co. The founding participants will fund the coalition to hire an independent managing director to oversee day-to-day operations of a series of pilot studies focusing on the areas of current and future television measurement through set-top-box date, and new methods for cross-platform media measurement. The coalition will publish its research findings to its members and make them available to the public. Mark R. Madler
