Countrywide Opens Location in Manhattan

Calabasas-based Countrywide Financial Corporation will open a home loan and banking center in Midtown Manhattan, the company announced Monday. By combining the two services in one building, the company can eliminate inefficiencies found in larger bank branches, said Countrywide Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer Tim Wennes “Countrywide Bank has experienced tremendous growth since our launch just five years ago, due in large part to our unique business model, which leverages the infrastructure of Countrywide’s long-time mortgage business,” Wennes said in a statement. Since established in 2001, Countrywide Bank went from $75 million in assets to $80 billion. The new office will host a Grand Opening this week at its location on the 17th Floor of 1155 Avenue of Americas at West 45th St.
