The Walt Disney Co. will make available programming from its television divisions to mobile customers of Sprint, the company announced Tuesday. Full length episodes of hit shows “Desperate Housewives,” and “Lost,” and programming from ABC News will be available through an on-demand channel. Separate channels will stream news and entertainment programming from ABC and the Disney Channel throughout the day. The deal is another way for Disney to find ways to connect viewers with the content they want, said Anne Sweeney, co-chair of Disney Media Networks and president of the Disney-ABC Television Group. “This deal not only provides new viewing opportunities for consumers, but also gives advertisers another platform to reach viewers and associate with our powerful network brands,” Sweeney said. Video-on-demand shows will be available to mobile customers the day after their network premiere. In the fall, select programming will include advertising to keep the cost down for viewers.
