IRIS International Reports Record Revenue and Profits

Chatsworth-based IRIS International announced record net income of $1.6 million on record sales of $15.6 million for the second quarter ending June 30. Revenue increased 51 percent over the same period last year, while net income increased 259 percent over last year. The company credited continued improving sales for the company’s iQ200 Automated Urinalysis Analyzer with generating record revenues in this most recent quarter. IRIS president and chief executive officer Cesar Garcia said sales to international distributors exceeded expectations, while domestic sales hit the company’s estimates. Revenues from StatSpin, the Company’s small laboratory devices subsidiary, were $2.2 million for the quarter, a 13 percent increase from $2.0 million last year. Company projections call for revenue growth of at least 35 percent for 2005, and earnings per share between $0.30 and $0.35
