Judi Rose Leaving Economic Alliance

Judi Rose, Director of Resource Development for the Economic Alliance of the San Fernando Valley, announced Thursday she was leaving the organization to pursue other opportunities. Rose, who joined the Alliance in January of 2005, said she planned on looking for a job in the social services sector. Previously she was Director of Public Affairs for the Valley Community Clinic. Rose was charged with soliciting more donations so that the Alliance could expand its current programs for businesses and develop new efforts. She said that the she’s begun efforts at the Alliance that should pay dividends in the future, but ultimately decided the position was not the right fit. “It wasn’t a good match for me,” said Rose. “I missed social services and I haven’t been happy. I need to feel more connected to my work.” Bruce Ackerman, President and CEO of the Alliance, said that he and Rose agreed the position was not right for her. “She’s been here a year and been a very dedicated employee,” said Ackerman. “But we both agreed that it was just not the right fit.” “She’s a very capable person and is going to make an incredible find for someone in the marketplace,” Ackerman added. Ackerman said he has not decided whether he will maintain the Director of Resource Development position in its current form or divide the duties internally. He expects to discuss the Alliance’s options in an upcoming management committee meeting.
