The defense and electronics business unit of ITT Corp. received a $29 million contract from the U.S Navy to manufacture radar modification kits. The kits will be made by ITT Gilfillan in Van Nuys and is expected to be completed by August 2011. Modifying the radars used to enhance launch on search capabilities will increase operational availability and decrease operating and supports costs. ITT Gilfillan designs and manufactures air traffic control and air/battlefield defense radar systems deployed around the world. Mark R. Madler
