Nestle Recalls Cookie Dough Products

Nestle USA’s Banking Division initiated a voluntary recall of refrigerated cookie dough products after a number of consumers reported feeling ill after eating raw cookie dough. The Food and Drug administration and the Centers for Disease Control are conducting an investigation into reported E. coli illnesses associated with the consumption of the raw dough. Glendale-based Nestle USA, indicated the action came out of an abundance of caution as the E. coli strain implicated in the investigation has not been detected in their product. They also strongly advised consumers that the cookie dough is not to be eaten raw, as is indicated prominently in the packaging of their products. The products involved in the voluntary recall include TOLL HOUSE refrigerated Cookie Bar Dough, Cookie Dough Tub; Cookie Dough Tube; Limited Edition Cookie Dough items; Seasonal Cookie Dough and Ultimates Cookie Bar Dough. No other Nestle TOLL HOUSE products are impacted, including already baked TOLL HOUSE cookies, all varieties of Nestle TOLL House morsels, chocolate baking bars or cocoa, and Dreyer’s and Edy’s ice cream products with Nestle TOLL HOUSE cookie dough ingredients.
