Los Angeles Newspaper Group named Mike Cano president and CEO of Impacto USA, its weekly Spanish language newspaper. Cano was formerly general manager of Al Dia in Dallas/Ft. Worth, and he has also worked as general manager of Excelsior, published by the Orange County Register and Freedom Communications, and at Knight-Ridder where he launched El Economico for the Press-Telegram in Long Beach. Impacto USA, based in Long Beach, is part of Woodland Hills-based Los Angeles Newspaper Group.
