ADVERTISING Reggie Davis has been appointed as vice president of marketplace quality with Yahoo! Inc. in its Burbank offices. In the role, Davis is responsible for developing and executing a strategy aimed at driving more rapid innovation and faster delivery of products and services. Davis joined Yahoo! in 2000. Rick Sax joined MediaPoint Network as its new vice president of affiliate relations and development. In that role, Sax will manage and grow MediaPoint’s existing network of many hundreds of media outlets that partner with MediaPoint Network in its performance-based advertising programs. He was previously vice president and sales manager with the paid programming division of Katz Direct. BANKING Wells Fargo has made several appointments in its branch stores. Sarkis Tarkhanian was named Wells Fargo community banking store manager for the newly built Ventura Oakdale branch in Woodland Hills. Tarkhanian has been with Wells since 2004 and has held several positions in the company including personal banker, assistant store manager and store manager. Patricia McMillian was named Wells community banking store manager for the newly built Newhall Plaza branch in the Santa Clarita Valley. McMillian, a 20-year veteran of the banking industry, joined Wells in 2000. She was most recently store manager for the Westridge Plaza branch. CIVIC James R. Bozajian has been sworn in as mayor of Calabasas. A prosecutor in the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, he will serve a one-year term. Margarita Campos has been named “Woman of the Year” by U.S. Rep. Adam B. Schiff. She is city clerk for the city of Burbank and is active with the League of Women Voters and Zonta Club of the Burbank Area. Jasik “Jasmen” Jarahian has been named “Woman of the Year” by U.S. Rep. Adam B. Schiff. A Glendale resident, Jarahian is general accountant and controller for the Armenian Relief Society of the Western United States of America and founding member of the Davtian-Meyramian Educational Foundation. H.E. Schockman has been appointed to the California Postsecondary Education Commission. A Sherman Oaks resident, he is a former associate dean and associate professor in the political science department at the University of Southern California. ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT Gary L. Wartik was installed as chairman of the board of directors of the Economic Development Collaborative Ventura County. Wartik has served on the EDC-VC board since 2003 and is the economic development director for the city of Thousand Oaks. Joining the board are new members Peter C. Foy, Ventura County supervisor; Ojai City Council member Sue Horgan; Fillmore City Council member Patti Walker; and Santa Paula Vice Mayor John Procter. EDUCATION Randy Harris has been named vice president for administration and finance and chief financial officer at California State University Northridge. He is the former director of financial operations for the Brigham Young University Church Education System’s worldwide operations. ENTERTAINMENT Sharan Magnuson was promoted to the newly created position of senior vice president, worldwide publicity for Warner Bros. Worldwide Television Marketing. In the position, Magnuson has oversight of business and trade communications for WBTVG’s five production divisions as well as entertainment consumer publicity for the content they create. She will also oversee communications and publicity strategy for WBTVG’s three distribution units. Magnuson previously served as senior vice president, publicity, advertising and promotions for Warner Bros. Television. Michael McLeod has been named as senior vice president of sales for Allumination FilmWorks in Woodland Hills. In that role, McLeod manages the sales team and works closely with Vice President of Sales Jerry Smallwood. Prior to joining Allumination, McLeod was senior vice president and general sales manager at Ventura Distribution. Rachael McLean joined mobile content provider GoTV Networks in Sherman Oaks as vice president of music. In that role, McLean oversees GoTV’s Hip Hop Official and Altitude rock music channels. Previously, McLean was director of content at Infospace, where she oversaw creative development and production for top-tier brands. EXHIBITION HD Expo has expanded its operations, administrative and sales teams. Evie Silvers has been hired as an account executive where she will handle sales and sales management functions. Jordan Ryder has been named as operations manager where she will be responsible for all exhibitor and sponsor-related operational issues. Glenna Daily has been named as administrative coordinator, a role in which she manages the daily administrative duties of the company. HEALTH Kevin Sharer has been re-elected as chairman of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America. Sharer, who took over the post last fall, is CEO and president of Thousand Oaks drug maker Amgen Inc. John Rush has been named as president and CEO of North American Scientific Inc. based in Chatsworth. He is the former president and CEO of Sanarus Medical and Micro Therapeutics Inc. LAW Elena J. Duarte has been appointed to the Los Angeles County Superior Court by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. Duarte, of Valencia, is a U.S. attorney in the Los Angeles U.S. Attorney’s Office and is a former trial attorney in the criminal division for the Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. Mishawn L. Nolan has joined Stone, Rosenblatt & Cha as principal. Nolan will lead the firm’s newly created entertain- ment/new media/intellectual property practice. She was previously with Greenberg & Bass. Nolan is active in Digital Coast Roundtable, Valley Entertainment Technology Experts Forum and IndieProducer, and is co-chair of the entertainment, new media and intellectual property section of the San Fernando Valley Bar Association. James A. Steele has been appointed to the Los Angeles County Superior Court by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. He is a principal in the Woodland Hills firm Steele & Persoff and is formerly of counsel for Rosen, Wachtell & Gilbert, Tucon Development Co. and Federated Department Stores. MANUFACTURING Save the World Air, Inc., a North Hollywood maker of emission reduction devices added three new members to its board of directors. Steve Bolio is a veteran of the automotive aftermarket industry and is a partner at Scafidi-Bolio & Associates, a manufacturers’ representation firm. Nate Shelton currently serves as CEO of SS Sales & Marketing, an organization representing manufacturers in the automotive aftermarket industry. Major General (Ret.) Dennis M. Kenneally recently retired as assistant to the chief of the Bureau of Automotive Repair. Kenneally is also an advisor to Save the World Air, Inc. NON PROFIT Dom Stasi, the chief technology officer for TVN Entertainment Corp. in Burbank, was named as the new president of the Society of Satellite Professionals International. As CTO, Stasi leads the engineering team that launched the first satellite multicast video on demand distribution service. The SSPI is a non profit member-benefit society serving satellite professionals through education, career development and professional recognition. The California Wellness Foundation appointed Peggy Saika as chairman and Elizabeth M. Gomez as vice chairman of its board of directors. Saika has served on the board since 1997 and is the executive director of Asian Americans/Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy. Gomez joined the board in 2005 and is the executive director of the Los Angeles Youth Network. REAL ESTATE AMCAL Multi-Housing has added staff in its acquisitions, construction, asset management and finance departments as follows: Mark Morgan was hired as acquisitions manager; Irene Tomlin was hired as asset manager; Pat McBride was hired as director of field operations and Tom Blankenship was hired as manager in the construction department along with Colleen Edwards, who was hired as an estimator and Cheryl Heilman, who was hired as assistant construction manager; and Matthew Segerdal was hired as project manager in the finance department. AMCAL, an Agoura Hills-based developer of affordable housing, also promoted Sid Paul to vice president, for-sale housing for AMCAL Homes Inc. Brian Greene has joined Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Calabasas as a Realtor Associate. As a sales associate, Greene works with both buyers and sellers to guide them in their decisions and choices. Prior to joining Coldwell Banker, Greene was manager of Club Ivar in Hollywood and served as a stock broker with Advanced Equities in Chicago. RETAIL Susan McLain has been named vice president and general manager of Glendale-based The Baby Einstein Co. She is the former vice president of Buena Vista Home Entertainment Marketing for North America. SALES Stefany Zelaya has joined Chatsworth-based Sin City Films as a sales associate. Zelaya has a background in telecommunications, including Internet sales and marketing. She previously worked in adult sales for Metro. STAFFING Anita Peters has been hired as a national search director at the Burbank staffing firm Workway. She will serve in the mortgage permanent placement corporate division. Peters is a 15-year veteran of the recruiting and staffing industry.
