One Office Closes but Two Open

In an effort to better serve its clients, Grubb & Ellis announced it will close its Sherman Oaks office and open two new offices in the west and east valleys. The commercial real-estate brokerage is in final lease negotiations on the sites, said Donald Hudson Jr., Grubb & Ellis senior vice president in Sherman Oaks. The move was decided after the highly successful opening of a Grubb & Ellis office in Santa Clarita last year. That location was chosen after an exhaustive study that included input from the company’s sales professionals and their clients showed it would be more productive for the office to be closer to Grubb & Ellis clients and employees alike. “Santa Clarita was a test bottle,” Hudson said. “It put us in the heart of the market. We also think that this is a good way to retain brokers and help them get more production out of the day since they won’t be commuting to Sherman Oaks.” Grubb & Ellis is opening offices in the Woodland Hills and Burbank-Glendale areas for the same reason. “We are not abandoning the Valley,” Hudson said. “We are moving strategically to grow in the Valley.” “All the moves are to improve market share.” The Sherman Oaks office has been open for about 10 years, Hudson said.
