The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority will hear public comments on the draft Environmental Impact Report for the proposed northern extension of the Metro Orange Line. The Canoga Transportation Corridor Meetings take place July 26, 7 to 9 p.m., at Chatsworth High School, 10027 Lurline Ave., Chatsworth, and July 30, 7 to 9 p.m., at New Academy of Canoga Park, 21425 Cohasset St., Canoga Park. Earlier this year, the Metro Board of Directors approved a $5.95 million contract for environmental clearance and preliminary engineering for the proposed Metro Orange Line’s extension to connect the Metro Orange Line Canoga Station with the Chatsworth Metrolink Station and a possible on-street extension to the SR-118 Freeway. Metro will evaluate various alternatives, including running along Canoga Avenue, the Canoga Rail Right-of-Way, De Soto Avenue and Topanga Canyon Boulevard.
