PALMDALE – If the state government takes an estimated $1.9 million in property tax funds from the city – an increasingly likely part of the plan to balance California’s budget – Palmdale will be in dire financial straits, city leaders agreed Wednesday. Voting unanimously after castigating state lawmakers – Democratic and Republican – for failing to rein in state spending, the Palmdale City Council passed a resolution declaring a financial hardship if the state raids local government coffers.
