Pratt & Whitney Wins $80 Million Testing Contract

Pratt & Whitney-Rocketdyne received an $80 million contract with NASA to perform testing at the Stennis Space Center in Mississippi. The one-year contract has an option to renew annually for an additional four years. The Canoga Park-based Pratt & Whitney-Rocketdyne facility will test the main engines on the space shuttle and the engines and propulsion system for the Constellation program, the next generation of spacecraft for human spaceflight. In addition, the company will perform engine and propulsion system testing as needed for other NASA programs, as well as provide hardware assurance and engineering support, including design work.
