Santa Clarita Offering New Shuttle Service to L.A.

Santa Clarita’s Transit Department will offer a new mid-day service to and from Union Station in downtown Los Angeles starting June 4. The Mid-Day Flyer 747 shuttle service will make one trip to and from Union Station each day. The shuttle will operate on weekdays and will serve Via Princessa, Santa Clarita and Newhall Metrolink stations. Passenger pick-up times will be 11 a.m. at the Via Princessa Metrolink station, 11:15 a.m. at the Santa Clarita Metrolink and 11:30 a.m. at Newhall Metrolink. The shuttle will arrive at Union Station at 12:20 p.m. The flyer will depart Union Station at 12:35 p.m. and will drop off passengers at the Newhall station at 1:20 p.m., at the Santa Clarita station at 1:35 p.m. and the Via Princessa station at 1:50 p.m. Regular fares will be $4. Fares for seniors ages 60 and older and for passengers who are disabled will be $2. “The city wanted to provide commuters with public transportation options for the middle of the day,” said Santa Clarita Mayor Marsha McLean. “The new mid-day bus service is great for anyone who doesn’t need to be in Los Angeles until the afternoon, works a half day or needs to get home early.”
