Advertising Corine Krogman has been promoted to director of account planning at Wiley & Associates in Westlake Village. She will oversee strategic development for new business and existing clientele. Clients include Sizzler International and ABBA Hair Care Products. Krogman joined Wiley & Associates two years ago as an account executive. Jeff Lee has joined DSLV/Lawlor Advertising’s Pasadena office as creative director. Lee’s previous clients have included Disney TV, Motorola, Kawasaki Motorcycles and Sega, and he has worked on projects including retail, direct response, packaged goods, entertainment and fast food clients. The Association of Independent Commercial Producers has created two new staff positions in the Los Angeles area. Steve Caplan was named AICP/West managing director. Also, Jane Nunez was named manager of labor affairs and national government relations. In addition, Michael Romersa has been elected second vice-president of AICP/West. The AICP represents the interests of companies that specialize in producing commercials for advertisers and agencies. Architecture Colin A. Sarjeant has been promoted to principal architect at City Spaces Inc., an interior planning and design firm headquartered in Pasadena. He has been with the company for 10 years and has been project architect for projects including corporate offices, building renovations, medical, retail and residential designs. Construction Mike Brady has been named vice president of Pasadena-based Parsons Infrastructure & Technology Group’s commercial and entertainment sector. Brady formerly was project director for architecture and engineering at Walt Disney Imagineering. Consulting Jim Hayden, West/ Southwest area managing partner, has been appointed managing partner of Grant Thornton LLP’s Southern California practice. He will work out of the firm’s Los Angeles, Irvine, and Woodland Hills offices and will continue as area managing partner for California, Nevada, and Texas. Entertainment Sharon Kim has been named manager of strategic planning and business development at Universal Music Group. Previously, she worked as a senior consultant on a strategic planning team at Booz Allen & Hamilton. Liz Koman has been named senior vice president of advertiser sales at Tribune Entertainment Co. Most recently, Koman was vice president and Eastern sales manager for Eyemark Media Sales in New York. Andrew Millstein has been appointed vice president and general manager of Dream Quest Images, the feature film visual effects division of Walt Disney Co. He will be responsible for all aspects of the company’s daily operations. Previously, Millstone was director of visual effects in the motion picture division of Disney. Sandy Wax has joined the Disney Channel as vice president of research and planning. She will be responsible for overseeing all consumer, programming and trade research for Disney Channel and Toon Disney. Previously, she was vice president of research and planning for Discovery Communications Inc. Paul K. Woolley has been named vice president of international licensing for MGM Home Entertainment. He will plan and manage the licensing for the Orion home video library in all international territories outside of the United States and Canada. Woolley previously was senior vice president of international at Epic Productions Inc. Kac Young has been appointed vice president of television production and development for Universal Studios Hollywood. She will be responsible for all network and cable television production taped in the theme park as well as special events for television. Young previously was a director, producer and writer for television. High Tech Mark Truhlar has been named vice president of network management development at Xylan Corp. He will also direct the newly created voiceover IP business unit. Previously, Truhlar was the vice president and general manager of the Spectrum network and systems management product line at Cabletron. Health Care Laura Mead Clapper has been appointed regional medical director by the Woodland Hills-based Health Net. In her new position, Clapper will direct medical affairs for Health Net in San Diego County and part of the Inland Empire. She will be responsible for medical operations with Health Net, contracting physician groups and dealing with commercial, Medicare, MediCal and Healthy Families products. Deborah Lee-Eddie has been named senior vice president and the San Fernando Valley’s service area manager for Woodland Hills-based Kaiser Permanente. Eddie will be responsible for coordinating the efforts of Kaiser Permanente physicians and employees. Eddie previously served as chief administrative officer and senior vice president of Jackson Children’s Hospital. Hotels John Fleming has been named profit center director of food and beverage for the Universal City Hilton and Towers. He will direct and supervise all activities of the food and beverage department. Fleming previously supervised food operations for Sports Club/LA and Sports Club/Irvine. Shellie Morgan has been promoted to manager of the Universal City Hilton and Tower’s profit-center rooms. She will oversee all aspects of marketing, front-office operations, housekeeping services, and room sales. Previously, she was director of convention services for the Registry Hotel in Universal City. Bert Seneca has been appointed to the position of general manager at the Airtel Plaza Hotel located at the Van Nuys Airport. Seneca will be responsible for managing all components of the hotel. He previously was the hotel’s food and beverage director. Public Relations Jeff Perlman has been promoted to vice president, client services for the Woodland Hills-based public relations firm JMPR. He will be responsible for overseeing all client services, including media relations. Science and Technology Jonathan G. Lasch has been named president and chief executive of Advanced Sports Materials based in Pasadena. He previously was vice president of the technology department at the Scripps Research Institute. Security Pinkerton’s Inc. has appointed Frederick W. London to the positions of vice president, deputy general counsel and assistant secretary. London will be based in Pinkerton’s World Support Center in Encino, where he will manage the legal aspects of the company’s acquisition, joint venture and business alliance programs. He was previously a partner with Gould & Wilkie, a New York law firm. Travel Steve Olmon has been named vice president and general manager of the Western regional offices of Maritz Travel Co. He will be based in the Woodland Hills facility and will be responsible for operations, quality assurance and generating new sales.
