The Simi Valley City Council this week unanimously authorized soliciting bids for a “wish list” of major street and transit projects that could be funded through the federal economic stimulus program. Contracts could be awarded as soon as May if the city gets the go-ahead from the California Department of Transportation to proceed with about $2.9 million in street projects and $2.1 million in transit projects, city officials said.
