Portions of the San Fernando Valley face a disruption in garbage collection following a walkout by employees of Waste Management. A picket line blocked the entrance to a Waste Management facility in Sun Valley, KNBC News reported at its website. The news station reported officials with the waste hauler stating that employees from other areas in an attempt to continue trash pickup. Hospitals, clinics, child-care facilities and restaurants will receive priority service, Waste Management officials told KNBC. The strike is expected to affect 225,000 residential and 29,000 commercial accounts throughout Los Angeles County.
