TechnoCom Sells Unit

TechnoCom Corp. has sold its vehicle tracking business unit to CalAmp Corp., the company announced Friday. The company said the sale was done so that the Encino-based TechnoCom can better dedicate resources to its core business of providing services for wireless infrastructure and emerging wireless technologies. Vehicle tracking, or resource management, is used for security reasons and in logistics, said company spokeswoman Janice Partyka. “This transaction benefits all parties involved,” said TechnoCom President Masoud Motamedi. “CalAmp’s manufacturing expertise provides efficiencies that will help our mobile resource management customers remain competitive over the long haul.” TechnoCom’s core mobile resource management business unit team is joining CalAmp to ensure a smooth transition for customers.
