Jeff Phillips met with the Economic Alliance of the San Fernando Valley’s Livable Communities group to present his idea to develop a major Valley art museum. Phillips has proposed what he calls an International Museum of the Arts that would feature technological artwork, dubbed “Artech,” as its main attraction. Local artists, Phillips said, are working to adapt technology developed by Valley companies in the 101 corridor. He said he will be contacting tech companies to solicit support for the museum. Bob Scott, co-chair of the morning’s meeting, suggested that the Economic Alliance form a committee to explore how the group can support museum development.
