TV, movie reps say they will listen to union

SHERMAN OAKS – Representatives of the major studios and television networks will meet with officials from the Screen Actors Guild, but they insist they only plan to listen to what the union has to say — not negotiate. The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers agreed to what a statement described as “a sidebar meeting” involving a small group from each side “solely for the purpose of listening to whatever SAG has to say.” SAG “has declined to specify the purpose of the meeting,” according to the alliance statement, which also repeated its call on SAG to accept its final offer.
