Cal Lutheran Ranked Among Best Regional Universities

California Lutheran University was ranked eighth among the 130 regional universities in the 15 western states, according to U.S. News and World Report.

The Thousand Oaks school also ranked second in the Best Colleges for Veterans list and made it to fourth in the Best Undergraduate Teaching, according to the publication, the university said in a release.

The U.S. News Best Colleges rankings, released Monday, consider student outcomes, faculty resources, academic reputation, per-student spending, admissions selectivity, graduate indebtedness and alumni giving in its methodology.

The list includes regional universities that provide a range of undergraduate majors and master’s degrees and a few doctoral programs.

Among the schools in the West, Cal Lutheran also ranked 14th on the Best Value Schools list, which factors in academic quality and cost after accounting for total expenses and financial aid; and No. 56 on the Social Mobility list, the school said in its release.

Cal Lutheran serves about 4,000 students from across the nation and around the world from a diversity of backgrounds, cultures and faiths.
