Stocks were up across the board for the two-week period ended April 10. The Dow Jones Industrial and the S&P 500 finished the period up 1.9 percent and 1.6 percent, respectively. The NASDAQ finished up 1.3 percent, while the Valley 50 Index was up 1.0 percent. The best local performer was MannKind Corp., up 31 percent, with Salem Communications Corp. the second best performer, up 19 percent. The worst local performers were Kythera Biopharmaceuticals Inc., and Ceres Inc., down 15 percent and 12 percent, respectively.
