Stocks were mixed for the two-week period ended Dec. 5. The Dow Jones Industrial and the S&P 500 finished the period up 1.5 percent and 1.3 percent, respectively. The NASDAQ finished the period up 1.6 percent, while the Valley 50 Index had the worst week, finishing down 1.7 percent. The best local performer was BNK Petroleum Inc. up about 33 percent, while Semtech Corp was up nearly 16 percent as the second best. Talon International Inc. and DreamWorks Animations SKG Int. performed the worst, down nearly 18 percent and 11 percent, respectively.
