The Valley Economic Development Center Women’s Business Center has received the Mentorship Award from Dialogue on Diversity, a Washington, D.C., nonprofit that links global communities across ethic, cultural and racial lines. The Women Business Center provides women entrepreneurs with resources to launch or grow a successful business through consulting, training seminars and workshops. It was created in 2004 and is partially funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration. It is credited with helping 600 women business owners secure $1 million in loans to create 30 business totaling 57 jobs.
