149-Room Hotel Proposed on Ventura Boulevard in Woodland Hills

A four-story, low-rise hospitality structure is in the planning stages for Ventura Boulevard in Woodland Hills, according to an environmental study posted by the city of Los Angeles. The 149-key hotel, proposed at 20401 Ventura Blvd., will include a ground-floor café, meeting rooms and three levels of basement parking that will accommodate 213 vehicles. Kamyar Marouni and Shahrzad Cohen of the entity 20401 Ventura LLC are named as applicants for the proposed hotel, which has been designed by Architectural Dimensions to include an exterior of stained glass and wood paneling. In 2016, the developers purchased the property for just over $6.5 million. This version of the hotel, which will replace what is currently a parking lot and vacant restaurant, represents a downsizing from a proposed eight-story, 201-room hospitality tower in 2016. According to the application, the developers hope to start construction in April with an end date of October 2022.
