San Fernando Valley business leader Richard Moss has been nominated to join the Board of Water and Power Commissioners. Moss is the president of the Moss Group, a real estate development and property management company in Encino. He brings more than 14 years of business experience to the board. As president of the company, Moss oversees the firm’s day-to-day property management and leasing activities, sets investment and financial strategies and acts as a general counsel. “Upon being confirmed by the City Council, I look forward to working with my fellow commissioners, LADWP staff, the Mayor’s Office and the City Council to further LADWP’s status as one of the greenest, most reliable and cost effective municipally owned utilities in the nation,” Moss said. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa said Moss’ experience will add to the board. “With his extensive experience in real estate law and development, Richard Moss brings a unique perspective to the Board of Water and Power Commissioners and I am confident he will be a leading voice in the continued transformation of the Department of Water and Power,” Villaraigosa said. Moss joined the Moss Group as a principal and executive vice-president in 1999 and was promoted to president in 2001.
