Los Angeles City Council
Krekorian serves District 2, which covers the eastern and southeastern San Fernando Valley. Since 2010, he has served on the Los Angeles City Council where he helped deal with the financial and economic effects from the Great Recession as well as the Covid-19 pandemic because of his service on the Budget and Finance Committee. He also is on the Metropolitan Transit Authority and Metrolink boards. Prior to his time on the council and in the state Assembly, Krekorian practiced law at the firms Skadden Arps, Dewey Ballantine, Petrich & Smith and Fisher & Krekorian. He has also served on the board of the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
