GeoLinks Wins $235 Million From FCC Fund

Camarillo Internet and phone provider GeoLinks has won a nearly $235 million award from the Federal Communication Commission’s Rural Digital Opportunity Fund to build high-speed broadband service for homes and businesses in unserved areas. The rural areas are in California, Arizona and Nevada.“We founded GeoLinks on the principle of digital equity,” Skyler Ditchfield, chief executive of GeoLinks said in a statement. “This funding from the FCC will allow us to build significant infrastructure to bring needed connectivity to rural homes and businesses. We believe the Internet is the great equalizer and these buildouts will be particularly meaningful in bridging the digital divide.”This award is in addition to $87.8 million that Geolinks secured in 2018 from the Connect America Phase II auction for the same purpose.
