ServiceTitan Recruits Former Netflix Executive as CFO

Fresh off securing a new $165 million investment round, ServiceTitan announced Monday it has hired former Netflix Inc. executive David Burt as chief financial officer. Glendale-based ServiceTitan provides a software platform that helps plumbers and electricians manage tasks such as appointments and payments. Burt most recently served as vice president of content and co-head of corporate development at Netflix. Before joining the streaming giant, he worked as an investment banker at J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. and as a strategy consultant at Bain & Co. “During David’s tenure, Netflix grew from a domestic service into a global media provider,” ServiceTitan Chief Executive Ara Mahdessian said in a statement. “He’s bringing that experience and expertise in growing a business to ServiceTitan at a pivotal period for the company.” Burt’s eight-year stint at Netflix came to an end sometime earlier this year. According to a report by the Wall Street Journal, Netflix Chief Financial Officer David Wells wrote in an email in August to employees that he “decided to exit” Burt because he “was not forthright with us around a major employee issue that impacted the business even when directly asked.” A representative at ServiceTitan said Burt will be filling a new position at the company and is not replacing anyone.
