Clippers Sell Premium Season Tickets for $175,000

The Los Angeles Clippers announced Thursday they are selling eight “Star Courtside” seats at a reported $4,070 per game, or $175,000 for the season. The eight seats are split into two sets of four, with each set between the scorers’ table and a team bench. “We’re excited about the incredibly intense and unique perspective these new premium seating options offer to fans who want to take their game experience to the highest level,” Gillian Zucker, president of business operations for the Clippers, said in a statement. As the Lakers sell fans on the idea of rookie Lonzo Ball and the addition of longtime Lakers’ fan favorite Ervin “Magic” Johnson as president of basketball operations, the Clippers are countering. By offering the Star Courtside seats, the Clippers said they are giving fans a sense of being an A-list celebrity by putting them front and center of the TV cameras. Darren Rovell of ESPN reported the cost of the premium seats, which will be offered to season ticket holders before they are made available to the general public. Additional perks will include private valet parking and access to the Lexus Courtside VIP entrance, access to two exclusive clubs: the Lexus Row 1 Room or Lexus Courtside Club, which both include a complimentary full bar, beverages and catered food. The Clippers’ first preseason game at Staples Center is Oct. 8, with the first regular-season home game scheduled for Oct. 21.
