Avery Dennison to Embellish Chinese Apparel

Avery Dennison Inc.’s Retail Branding and Information Solutions announced a joint venture for the company to provide embellishments and labels to a Chinese knitwear manufacturer. Under the global retail supply contract with Shenzhou Knitting Co. Ltd. announced Tuesday, Avery Dennison will provide the customer with decorative heat transfers, printed and woven labels, graphic tags and tickets, and sustainable packaging. “We are honored to partner with Shenzhou in this venture,” said Shawn Neville, president of Avery Dennison RBIS, in a statement. “Our goal is to collectively accelerate our heat transfer embellishment innovation capabilities and overall speed to market to better serve leading global brands together.” RBIS, located in Westborough, Mass., is a $1.6 billion division of the Glendale label maker. Shares of Avery Dennison closed down 31 cents or a fraction of a percent to $48.79 on the New York Stock Exchange.
