Briefs: Bradway, Obit

Robert Bradway, chief executive of Amgen Inc., has joined the USC Board of Trustees. Bradway has served as head of the Thousand Oaks biotech company since 2012. He previously was president and chief operating officer. Before joining Amgen, he worked as an investment banker at Morgan Stanley. He has a Harvard MBA. “Mr. Bradway brings to our board his exceptional experience and expertise, as well as his commitment to applying research to better our society,” USC President C. L. Max Nikias said in a statement. The Board of Trustees has about 55 voting members, who elect one-fifth of their members each year for a five-year term of office. The founder of Allen Realty in Studio City, Mort Allen, has died. He was 75. Allen was a part of the San Fernando Valley real estate community for most of his life, growing up in Studio City and attending North Hollywood High School. He founded Allen Realty with his mother Diana Allen in the early 1960s. The company, which is still in operation on Ventura Boulevard, quickly grew and employed more than 80 by the mid-1970s. Allen is survived by a daughter, grandchildren and one great grandchild. Services will take place Friday at Mount Sinai Memorial Park in Los Angeles.
