Cheesecake Factory Inc. announced on Tuesday the promotion of two top executives following the resignation of its president. David M. Gordon was named president of the Calabasas-based casual dining chain replacing Michael Jannini, who left to pursue other interests, according to the company. Gordon has been with Cheesecake for 20 years and previously served as area director of operations and regional vice president for the West Coast. “(Gordon) is well-deserving of this promotion, as he has been instrumental in driving our restaurant operations to be more efficient and effective, while at the same time increasing our standards for quality and service,” said Chief Executive David Overton in a statement. The company also said Spero Alex will be its new vice president of operations. Alex has been with Cheesecake for 24 years, serving most recently as regional vice president for the East Coast. Shares rose 25 cents, or less than 1 percent, to close at $33.32 on the Nasdaq.
