Credit Union Branch Slated for Palmdale

Edwards Federal Credit Union broke ground this month on its new flagship branch and administration building in Palmdale. On hand at the Nov. 18 event were the financial institution’s directors, senior managers, representatives from the city of Palmdale and staff from Level 5, the Atlanta design/build firm that will construct the facility. It will be located at 10th Street West and Avenue O-8. The two-story building will have a coffee retailer and community room on the first floor, with offices for credit union management, accounting and human resources on the second. The branch will have two drive through ATMs and two walk-up ATMs. Edwards Federal Chief Executive Roy MacKinnon said that he knows that residents of the Antelope Valley have many financial service providers to choose from. “But they may not be aware that everyone who lives or works in the Antelope Valley is eligible to benefit from Edwards FCU’s low loan rates and excellent services,” MacKinnon said in a statement. Founded in 1962 on the Edwards Air Force base, Edwards Federal Credit Union is the only financial institution headquartered in the Antelope Valley. It has branches on the air force base and in Lancaster.
