Internet Ad Firm Buys San Francisco Company

Digital marketing company Conversant Inc. said Thursday it has acquired SET Media, a San Francisco digital-video technology company. Terms of the deal between Conversant, in Westlake Village, and SET Media, were not disclosed. Conversant, which largely brokers Internet advertising, changed its name from ValueClick Inc. on Feb. 4. Conversant Chief Executive John Giuliani said the addition of SET Media complements his company’s advertising capabilities with targeted video. “By adding their innovative technology and expertise to the Conversant personalization platform, we further strengthen our ability to provide agencies and media professionals with personalized digital marketing campaigns,” Giuliani said in a prepared statement. Shares closed up 1 cent, or 5 percent, to $20.96 on the Nasdaq.
