Kaiser Expects to Reopen Woodland Hills Center Sunday

Kaiser Permanente Woodland Hills Medical Center, having virtually shut down this week, announced Friday that it expects to reopen on Sunday. The hospital’s main campus, 5601 De Soto Ave., suspended operations following a water main break on Jan. 19, leaving it without running water. A water line has been installed, but the facility has not been able to return to normal operations, the hospital said in a statement. Officials are in the process of obtaining mandatory state and county approvals before operations can resume. Throughout the week, services were shut down starting with urgent care and the emergency room on Tuesday evening, and outpatient services by the end of the day Wednesday. All patients at the 275-bed medical center were moved to nearby hospitals as well on Wednesday. Only the medical center’s 24-hour pharmacy remained open for prescription pick-up. The center’s Northside Pharmacy remains temporarily closed. Kaiser is pointing patients to the following network locations for care: Panorama City Medical Center Urgent Care, 13630 Willard Street; Ventura Urgent Care, 4949 Market Street; Northridge Target Clinic, 8999 Balboa Blvd., Northridge; Westlake Village Target Clinic, 30740 Russell Ranch Road; Burbank Target Clinic, 1800 Empire Ave.; and LAMC Urgent Care, 4700 Sunset Blvd. in Los Angeles.
