KB Home Buys Santa Clarita Lots

KB Home has purchased land to build two new subdivisions in Santa Clarita, the company announced Friday. The Los Angeles homebuilder bought 278 lots in Plum Canyon, a master planned hillside community in the north of the city. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed. The company’s Canyon Heights and Canyon Crest developments will feature homes with views overlooking the Santa Clarita Valley. The homes will range in size from 1,925 to 4,517 square feet, with prices expected to start in the high $500,000s. “We have designed our homes at Plum Canyon to appeal to buyers looking for larger homes with the latest in energy and water-efficiency, smart technology and design features,” said Steve Ruffner, president of KB Home’s Southern California division, in a statement. “With this substantial land purchase, we expect to be building new homes at Plum Canyon for Southern California residents for years to come.” Construction has already started on the lots, with the communities scheduled to open this summer. KB Homes already has two nearby developments in Santa Clarita, the Charleston at River Village and Ridgeview at Echo Ridge.
