Laemmle Fallbrook 7 to Close

The Fallbrook 7 multiplex operated by Laemmle Theatres at the Fallbrook Center mall is closing on Feb. 27 after more than 11 years. The theater, which specializes in screening foreign and independent movies, did not secure a new lease with mall owner General Growth Properties Inc. of Chicago, according to a report in the Daily News. After the closure, the family-owned movie theater chain will only have two locations in the San Fernando Valley: NoHo 7 in the North Hollywood arts district and the Town Center 5 in Encino. The Los Angeles-based chain hopes to reopen another West Valley location, according to the report. Aside from the Fallbrook Center theater, Laemmle operates eight multiplexes in the greater Los Angeles area.
