Malabar Acquires Aviation Tool Maker DAE Industries

Ground-support equipment maker Malabar International announced Monday the acquisition of DAE Industries, a manufacturer specializing in engine transport and aircraft maintenance stands. Terms of the deal between Malabar, in Simi Valley, and DAE, in Louisville, Ky., were not disclosed. Malabar Chief Executive John Carroll Jr. said the acquisition will strengthen the company’s ability to serve its commercial and military customers. “Acquiring DAE boosts our capabilities domestically and internationally and we will now offer a broader array of products to the commercial and military aviation industries,” Carroll said in a prepared statement. Malabar products, including tripod and axle jacks, fluid dispensers, and nitrogen, oxygen and strut service carts, are used by commercial airlines, maintenance and repair centers, airframe manufacturers and military forces in 90 countries. DAE, founded in 1984, produces engine transport stands, aircraft maintenance stands, ground support equipment and aircraft service tools. DAE Chief Executive Todd Berger said joining Malabar gives the company a larger platform to expand its business. “Becoming a part of Malabar with our high-quality and unique product portfolio creates synergies that will benefit all our customers and our position in the marketplace,” Berger said in a prepared statement.
