National Technical Systems Inc. signed a five-year agreement to provide engineering and test services for U.K. aerospace and defense company Meggitt PLC, the company announced Monday. The Calabasas firm has provided it services to Meggitt in the past for civil aerospace projects, and the new contract will expand that into defense and industrial projects. “Our business relationship with Meggitt allows us to grow as they grow, and vice versa, and we believe this relationship will be beneficial to both parties in the future,” said National Technical Chief Executive William McGinnis in a prepared statement. The services NTS will provide include engineering of test plans, procedures, fixture and complex test setups, data acquisition and controls, and reports. Meggitt, based in the Christchurh, makes components and sub-systems for aerospace, defense and energy markets. Its local facilities are Meggitt Control Systems in North Hollywood and Meggitt Safety Systems in Simi Valley. Shares in National Technical fell 2 cents, or a fraction of a percent, to $22.91 on the Nasdaq.
