Preview: Business Groups’ First Steps to Respond to Unrest

San Fernando Valley regional business groups have responded to the Black Lives Matter movement and ongoing protests not only through statements denouncing police brutality, but also through actionable efforts to address systemic racism within their own ranks. Some, including the Greater San Fernando Valley Chamber of Commerce, have banded together with others in the economic development sector to inform business leaders on how to tackle civic unrest on a broader stage. Others, such as the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce and Valley Economic Alliance, have turned to webinars to get members thinking about how their stance on the lightning rod issue needs to be carefully cultivated and truly reflect company culture.
