Teledyne Subsidiary Receives Chemical Weapons Disposal Contract

A subsidiary of Teledyne Technologies Inc. received a $489 million contract to provide services supporting the disposal of chemical weapons. Teledyne Brown Engineering Inc. was one of five companies selected for the chemical stockpile elimination program by the U.S. Army Chemical Materials Agency and the Program Executive Office for Assembled Chemical Weapons Alternatives. Teledyne Brown is a subsidiary of Thousand Oaks-based Teledyne Technologies. “We are very pleased to have been selected by the Army to support this important program to eliminate chemical weapons,” said Teledyne Chairman, President and CEO Robert Mehrabian in a prepared statement. “This strengthens our environmental portfolio and reflects favorably upon our rare capabilities in chemical weapons demilitarization.” Teledyne has provided research, engineering services, technology, manufactured products, test and sustainment for the safe decontamination of chemical and biological warfare agents for 20 years.
