THQ Finishing Off Sale of Assets

Defunct video game publisher THQ Inc. will sell off its remaining game titles and licensed software in a second sale since its bankruptcy filing. Among the titles being auctioned by the bankrupt Agoura Hills company are its “Darksiders” and “Destroy All Humans” franchises, “Red Faction” and “MX.” THQ has received interest from about 100 potential buyers of the titles with final bids accepted through April 15. The sale process is expected to be completed by the middle of May, the company said. THQ filed for bankruptcy in December following years of declining sales. In January, the bankruptcy estate raised $72 million by selling other game titles and development studios to Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. of New York City, Sega Corp. of Tokyo, French video game maker Ubisoft LLC, and two German companies.
